| Latah Sanitation, Inc., or LSI,
is a local, family-operated solid waste management company serving approximately
33,000 residents of Latah County, Idaho, since 1966. LSI provides
innovative solid waste programs with an emphasis toward waste reduction and
diversion. The comprehensive scope of this program and our effectiveness
in working with our community is evidenced by our receipt of the 1995
Outstanding Rural Recycling Program Award from the National Recycling Coalition. Latah Sanitation provides solid waste collection services for approximately
9,700 residential customers and 930 commercial customers on rural and urban
routes throughout the county. LSI also operates the Solid Waste Processing
Facility (SWPF), located 5 miles east of Moscow, ID on Highway 8. The
SWPF
is home to our transfer station operations, an inert
construction/demolition landfill, composting facility and scrap metal and tire
recycling. Household and business recycling services are provided by the recycling
branch of our company, Moscow Recycling.
