Bulky Waste Sites

What is a Bulky Waste Site?

The Bulky Waste Sites (in Latah County) and the One Stop Drop Stations (Nez Perce County) were created to allow rural residents to dispose of items too large to be put out with their household garbage.

Who can use the Bulky Waste Sites?

All Bovill, Deary, Genesee, Juliaetta, Kendrick, Onaway, Potlatch and Rural Latah County households may use the Bulky Waste Sites.  There is no charge to dispose of items at the Bulky Waste Sites--the cost of this service is covered in your monthly garbage bill.

Businesses, and residents of the cities of Moscow and Troy do not pay into the Bulky Waste Site system and are not permitted to use the Bulky Waste Sites.  Moscow and Troy residents should take their bulky items directly to the SWPF for disposal.

What kind of items can I dispose of at the Bulky Waste Sites?

Any item that will not fit into a standard garbage can should be taken to a Bulky Waste Site.  This includes furniture, appliances, mattresses, car parts, demolition debris, tree stumps/branches, and tires.

Household garbage, animal/game waste, hazardous materials and medical/infectious wastes are not accepted at the Bulky waste sites.  Please call LSI for proper disposal of these types of waste.

Is there a limit to the amount of waste I can take to a Bulky Waste Site?

While there is no set limit to the amount of waste you can bring to the Bulky Waste Site, we request that customers be considerate of one another's needs and avoid hauling more than two pickup loads of waste to the Bulky Waste Sites in one day.  Please consider spreading out your cleanup project over a couple of weeks, or haul very large amounts of waste directly to the SWPF for disposal.

In addition, you may take no more than 5 industrial (truck, implement, etc.) tires or 10 passenger (car, pickup, etc.) tires to the Bulky Waste Site on any weekend that the site is open.

I own a small business (store, gas station, etc.).  Can I use the Bulky Waste Sites?

NO!  Businesses are not permitted to use the bulky waste sites due to the volume and types of waste they produce.  Businesses should take their bulky items directly to the SWPF for disposal.

Are the Bulky Waste Sites the only place to dispose of bulky items?

No.  You may take bulky items directly to the SWPF for disposal.  Please be aware that there may be a charge for items taken to the SWPF.
