Latah County, Idaho
LSI's solid waste collection services in Latah County are operated under nine
separate ten-year franchise agreements with the City of Moscow, Latah County and
seven rural Latah County cities. Collection service is provided for
approximately 9,700 residential customers and 930 commercial customers on
collection routes throughout the county. This includes

To facilitate disposal of items too large for regular household collection in
rural areas, LSI operates four Bulky Waste Sites in rural Latah County.
Each site is open two Saturdays a month (except Potlatch) and collects bulky items (appliances,
furniture, etc.), inert demolition materials (lumber, concrete, insulation,
etc.) recyclables and lawn and garden trimmings.
In addition to providing solid waste collection services, curbside recycling
collection is provided to the cities of Moscow, Deary, and Troy through our
recycling division, Moscow Recycling. Moscow Recycling also offers
recycling collection to Moscow businesses through the Reduce It! Business
Recycling Program.
Billing for solid waste services in Latah County cities is generated by each
individual city. In rural areas, billing for solid waste services is
generated by the Latah County Solid Waste Department. For billing contact
information, click here.

Collection Rules and Regulations
 | All solid waste customers except those in the City of Moscow must have
their trash on the curb by 5:00 a.m. on their garbage day to ensure
collection. City of Moscow residents must have their trash on the curb
by 7:00 a.m. to ensure collection. If you are unsure of your garbage
day, click on the schedule box at the top of this page for more information.
|
 | Garbage must be placed within 5 feet of the curb, alley or where your
private driveway intersects the road. Carry out service is available
for those who are unable to carry their trash to the curb due to physical
limitations.
|
 | Please place garbage out for collection in standard 20-36 gallon garbage
cans with handles and lids. To control litter, please bag your trash
inside the can. For the safety of our collection workers, we require
that garbage cans weigh no more than 60 lbs. when full. Overweight cans may be tagged
and left at the curb at your collection worker's discretion.
|
 | If you have more trash than your garbage can(s) will hold, you may place
additional trash out for collection in sturdy plastic trash bags. Full
bags must weigh less than 35 pounds. If your household is on a
pay-by-the-can billing schedule, you will be charged for any trash above
your normal service level.

 | NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ALLOWED! For more information on hazardous
materials and their proper disposal, please see the Household Hazardous
Waste section of this website.

litter, and place in a securely tied plastic bag before placing it in your
household trash. |
